End of the Quarter

As Government Students begin turning in their Term Papers I want to make sure everyone understands what happens at the end of this semester.

All Extra credit or any work is due in all classes by Monday 3/13. This is important to note because many students have missing assignments.

Because I use google classroom I do not know if students have turned in a late assignment so I ask all students if an assignment has been turned in late but is currently marked missing in Infinite Campus to please email me the name of the assignment as it appears on IC that they turned in. From there I Can determine how late the assignment was and what percentage will be removed from the assignment's score.

We Will be holding We The People Interviews during 5th-6th period on Wednesday and Thursday of next week March the 15th and 16th. I'm hoping every student I spoke with or received a nomination will consider interviewing.

Projects and Test

In Government this week student will be working on their Mock Trial Projects. Remember students should be using class time to work on projects and not taking them home, if they are they are not using their class time wisely. Every student is a lawyer on a team of lawyers for their case, every student will also be a witness and juror for other cases. The first cases are presenting on Wednesday and the last case is presenting on Thursday

In History students will have their final quiz on Chapter 15 followed by their Unit Test for Unit 4.

Students will then begin their World War 2 project.

Getting Ready For Projects

In government students will be finishing up Unit 5 this week. Their week should look like this: Notes on Procedural Justice Monday-Wednesday, Thursday Class Discussion/Debate on the Death penalty, followed by the Lesson Quiz. Next Wednesday will be the Unit 5 test so students will receive a Study Guide Thursday to study before their test. Everything on the test will be available on their Notes. After that test we will begin their Next Project.

In History Students are beginning study of the Great Depression. After this we will begin the New Deal leading into World War 2. There should be  Quiz this Thursday.

Thank you for everything you do to make your students successful.

Back To School

It's great to be back and I want to thank you again for sending your students to me to learn about America, our history, and our government.

A couple things about Quizzes, Students can always retake a quiz, but they must take it the first time in class. Also They can only retake the quiz once. I want them to take what they learned when we went over the quiz and then study in order to great the 2nd time. Otherwise they can just take it over and over and never really learn anything.

Next week students will be continuing with our regular schedule. That means, Vocab at the beginning of class with a Question of the Day, then notes and class discussion, then an Exit ticket most days. Then a Quiz at the end of the week.

Government will have a class discussion usually about the rights and interpretations of those rights we studied during the week on Thursdays so they should be preparing on Wednesday.

Next week All classes have a quiz on Monday. Have a great weekend.
